Horn Position
I have just noticed that my horn is mounted in the wrong position its high on the inner wing at the front, but for the life of me I cant remember the correct position and I seem to have a couple of places it will go, can anyone refresh my terrible memory or even pop up a photo.
Cheers
Kevin

Re: Horn Position
Thats interesting.... my horn is mounted on the back of the rad support frame. The brackets and holes etc look original, mines a 63 though without the air intake hose so I assume the position was changed with the later heater? Though I note that on earlier cars it seems to be located on the inner wing as others describe above. Theres another two holes on the other side of the rad frame so I could fit high and low horns Ill have to have a look at some other cars at the National and compare........not that long to wait now.

Re: Horn Position
Perhaps my car's just odd, but the Windtone horns in Mog are mounted like Taupe's, on the back of the radiator cowl panel. (I think that's what it's called.) Have photos!

Is this how they would've originally been mounted, or have they been moved? I'm quite fond of them where they are (when the car's put together, of course).

Re: Horn Position
The twin (hi note, low note) Windtone horns were an option, probably a dealer fit option. This may have been the standard (factory recommended) position - would be interesting to know.
Also would be interested to know if there was a factory recommended installation for screen washers, bottle and pump on early cars? Maybe I should start another thread on that..

Re: Horn Position
That is where the windtones are on my MM. They have their own special brackets.
Correction to my ealier statement, the cheapo horn on my Traveller is mounted at the bottom of the wing, buried under the fresh air hose. Just replaced it with a decent Lucas item bolted to the floor.
