Alloy wheels, will they fit?
Hi I am thinking about putting some alloy wheels on my Morris Traveller 64. Im eyeing up a set but not sure if they'll fit! There diameter is 12" with a center hole of 2 1/2" Does anyone know if they'll fit? Thanks Ted

Re: Alloy wheels, will they fit?
pcd means pitch circle diameter i think, basically in order to fit them they need to be 4 X 101.6 which is minor, atleast i think it is ( 4 bolting holes, 101 is the length between the holes for the studs) so if the alloys are 4x100 they would fit but i really wouldnt risk it and if the are 4x108 that is ford size and peugeot so they will not fit.
Do you have a link for the alloys??? i and many others can tell you whether they will fit or not.

never tried 12 inch. 13's look too small as it is! guessing the wheels you're looking at are mini wheels (which should be the right stud pattern) but i don't know if wheels that small would clear everything (there's not too much to clear except width wise where you have the steering arm and the top trunnion to content with.
you might struggle to find tyres big enough to get the radius anywhere near right.

Re: Alloy wheels, will they fit?
they won't fit. they're 4.5 inch pcd, minors are 4 inch.
Re: Alloy wheels, will they fit?
12" is FAR too small - although I did once sit my Minor on 10" Mini wheels just for a laugh...... The acceleration was terrific.
You MUST use wheels with 4" PCD - there are NO modern cars with suitable wheels - although it 'may' be possible to use Classic Mini 13" wheels - but the inset is really too much and massive spacers would be required. Check out special deals at JLH and other Minor suppliers..... Wheels from Spridgets will fit - but tend to be 13" diameter only.

Re: Alloy wheels, will they fit?
Im guessing he has measured diagonally from the outer edge of each hole
Subtract the dia. of one hole (approx 13mm/ 1/2") from the "diagonal" and you end up with 4" - therefore mini ;)

Re: Alloy wheels, will they fit?
wierdly enough, a friend at work gave me the same 3 1/4" measurement yesterday - this calculated to be 4.5" PCD... (It wasn't a Minor though! I think he said MGB)
by coincidence he does have a set of minilites on his 54 Minor with newish tyres that he wants to sell (but wants over £250 for them)
