T Cut or not T Cut

Post by robinofsherwood »

Grateful for any advice on using T Cut to brighten up my paintwork ? The paintwork is in generally good nick with a couple of weeping rust spots around one of the headlights. I guess i should get this looked at first.
Are there any benefits wax-oiling the car or is this a waste of money[frame]Image[/frame]

waxoil and dinitrol are both good products

t cut with water will brighten the paintwork and remove road grime and dirt and then a good canuba wax polish

YES to waxoyl - as much as you can! Yes to T cut - but don't put wax anywhere you plan to spray paint in the near future.

agreed!

I use Autoglym paint renovator now. Used to use T-cut, then as au says, protect the polished paint with Carnauba wax.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

T cut removes the top layer of paint, so use sparingly or you will discover the red and grey undercoat and primer.

There's some waxing tips here: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17598

I recommend a clay bar - it really helps to get a good shine to your paint work :D

Don't use waxoyle till your car is totally dry.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
