The engine number on my 58 Traveller is 9M-U-H 2230nn; what does the U & H stand for are is there any way of identifying the age of the engine from the number?
Also the registration document shows an engine number of 6597xy which is very similar to the VIN number of FLA1/6397xy. Is this likely to be correct and the engine has been replaced or a DVLA typo?

Thanks for the info, anyone know if you can age an engine from the final 6 digits?
