Hello all
l have a question regarding where the rocker cover breather tube should go to,
At present the tube goes from the Rocker cover to the air filter ,l noticed that there is a vacum tube that has been blanked off on the side of the carb,l thought the breather pipe from the Rocker cover should go into the carb and not the air filter.#
Can you please advise me and why the tube goes where it does,Saying all that the car runs vey sweetly.
also what advantages are there in connection to the carb??
Many thanks Dave Benn

Re: rocker cover Tube to where ??
The original fitting for the breather pipe was from the rocker box to air filter. Later carbs had a breather tube fitted which was a more effective way of connecting the pipe.
There should also be a small vacuum tube which connects the carb to the distributor.

if your blocked off pipe is about 1/4" diameter then you can connect your breather pipe to that, and leave the pipe on the air filter casing open to atmosphere.

Thanks all for the info .
l will change the pipes and see what if anything happens.
ps ....l do have one pipe that goes from the carb to the distributor, also another thats blanked off,so l will reconnect that to the rocker cover and as suggested leave the air filter connection off.
Cheers all and happy motoring

the biggest difference you'll notice is your air filter staying cleaner/drier!

If it is on the carb you can connect the breather to it, if it's on the manifold it will need a restriction put in it before putting a breather pipe on.
