I'm not one to moan but...
Bought a kidney panel from a well-known supplier. It is a different shape and size to the hole in my car
Taken the shine off my weekend already

Re: I'm not one to moan but...
i believe someone else reported problems with the kidney dish...
iirc they are very much bigger than needed to allow you to cut them down to the exact size and shape of your car..as all are slightly different apparently..
i will keep an eye out for you and doris around aldershot

It's the first one I've ever bought and it's dawned on me that a big job is going to turn into a huge one

It already is a huge job if you've cut all the way back to the kidney panel as sill panels, inner wing and A pillar will also need attention!! Re-fitting the A pillar in the right place is critical. As are getting the inner wing in the right place so the captive nuts are in the right locations to enable the wing to go back on where it should.
Could you not repair the kidney panel you have? I hope the car (including bulkhead!) is braced!
It is just a flat panel with a kidney shape in it, after all. Perhaps you could simply cut the rust out of the existing kidney panel and use parts of the repair panel butt welded in in sections rather than replacing the whole lot.
