hello , On a Black 1954 Series 2 with a cheese grater grill , should the grill be black or cream ? Mine is black as were the wheels , but repainting the wheels cream has made the car look much better ( well I think so any way ) and I think lightning the grill would relieve the dark effect of the black body, as on the later models. Any comments on the correct colour ? Regards Phil Burley

A 1954 Series 2 in black should have a grey grille. According to Ray Newell's 'Original Morris Minor' book, the most common grey used was Birch Grey. All other body colours have the grille painted the same as the rest of the front panel (and car). Black was the special case.
Incidently, the wheels should be painted body colour and not a contrasing colour as used on the later Minor 1000s
