I 'think' the master cylinder has the BSF threads - but check what comes out since there are varying accounts of that.

And the banjo usually has the BSF thread? I'm sure some have reported UNF - hence the comment to check carefully.

i have taken the t piece off and with some good mole grips, both arms and a ring spanner, the brake pipe switch cracked off, just needed a little bit more pressure on that nut than i could give while on the car! (always the way).
i got the t piece and the side hose to front t piece brake pipes off, i jacked up one side of the car when i realised you can get to them from the front quite easy.
i held the top nut with adjustable spanner then turned with the brake pipe spanner, the unions turned with the pipe as usual on old unions, both sides sheared the pipe off, it's funny how those unions near the wheels don't normally survive, all that dampness around the arches.
i took a nose around the master cylinder pipe (from the side), and i can see how the union fits inside there. it was pretty well fastened might need some penetrating oil. however this pipe seems in pretty good condition and could stay where it is for now unless i want to replace them all, which i am thinking about.
can anyone tell me about the location of the brake pipe from the back of the master cylinder to the back t piece? do you have to undo the brake pipe from the back of the master cylinder from inside the car?
also, what's the pipe coming through a grommet from the back of the main strut going from the back to the front of the car around the middle?

Yes I think (it's been a long long time) you need to lift the floor to get at the rear connection - and the pipe in the middle etc is the feed to the rear brakes!

that would make sense, it seem to be going through the middle joist and then to the back out of a grommet, i guess you would have to pass that pipe through and then attach it from inside the car above the floor to the back of the master cylinder, if i am doing that might as well replace the master cylinder too! lol.
