Just when I was starting to get nostalgic about London....
I went out to have a play with my beastie this afternoon. I thought I'd do a bit more flatting of the new paint job, so stepped outside armed with 1200 grit wet n dry and a bucket of soapy water. I removed the cover - sadly Derek has to live outside - and noticed that something didn't look quite right up at the sharp end. On closer inspection, it seems that some ****! has put their boot (or trainer probably) in the front of my bonnet. The main impact was on the badge and this is pushed in to the right, as is the bonnet edge on that side. I lived in Sarf London for many years and this sort of mindless vandalism seemed to be part of everyday life, but having moved to the wilds of Hereford, I thought, naively, I'd left all that behind. Bit of a pain; the spray job on the bonnet was probably my best work! Still, at least I hadn't yet flatted and polished it, 'cos I have a feeling that when I effect the repair it may need a drop more paint.

Yes its very, very annoying. I was out in the MM the other evening and some little sh*t threw an egg at the car, it made a very loud bang and a big mess. I washed it off in the dark, then today Stevey noticed a mark on the passenger wing were the eggshell had actually cut through the paint work and into the primer..........

Too many Minors so little time.....

Cats-whiskers and DavidMc I sympathise - sadly there is little we can do. I have suffered such things in the past when parked outside my place of work and at home. Eggs are no doubt seen as 'just fun' but thrown at anything they can hurt/damage. Hope you both manage to sort your paint and other damage without too much effort and expense.
Re: Just when I was starting to get nostalgic about London....
Back when I had my 100e some urchins broke into my garage, admitted they were after the old bikes behind it but they still had to move it to get them out, shake get couldn't figure out how to start it =\ so they bounced it along the garage into the wall. Messed up the bumper and royally Bucharest the front suspension in the process. Then when they still couldn't for the bikes out they just kicked them over! Knocked the tank straight off the mounting on one....

Sorry cats-whiskers but are you saying this happened in London?
As you also say
Maybe this thread should be the wilds of Hereford aren't what I'd hoped for?
Commiserations anyway, it must have been a mighty kick to do that much damage, are you sure the dustcart or something similar wasn't reversed into it?
As you also say
I'm guessing not.the wilds of Hereford

Fair comment MarkyB. Maybe the title was a bit ambiguous. No, this happened in Hereford and in a way I wish it had have been the dustcart or one of the locals misjudging the width of their 4x4. Much easier to forgive that. Pretty certain though this was a hoof (human). Probably the same pillock who climbed on, and dented, my Moggy's roof not long after I got it and while it was Peat brown rather than white.
I see you are South East London based. I spent 18 years in New Cross, just round the corner from (the old) Millwall football ground. Worked in Peckham. So as Del Boy would say, Bonjour.

Unfortunately as this thread proves the idiots are everywhere - Me thinks the gene pool is overflowing! They have just restarted the craze of running up and over cars again in Canterbury and my friend at work had his modern day tin can attacked in this manner. Worse than the dented roof is the damaged sunroof surround - as now whenever he drives over 40mph no one can hear themselves think for the air noise screaching through the gap.

Having had problems myself with cars parked on the street, I just wouldn't run a classic car if the only place I could keep it was on the road.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO
