the other side is welded in and ready for the higher weld beads to be ground back and dressed. Looks very tatty at the moment, but tapping the gusset with a hammer sounds off nice and solid[frame]Image[/frame]

next will be the body side stays, I have some limited views of the position of these, but this is a good location shot and gives me the position in relation to the wheel arch[frame]Image[/frame]

with a quick squirt of weld they were in and solid.I had to compromise slightly on the top weld location, the stays were slightly too long and tended to bow out the side, but welded to the floor edge like this they are perfectly located and add to the firmness of the otherwise flexible tub sides.

Ive been bidding on Ebay for some wide wheels for my project, I have three wide rims at blasttreat at Arundel,they are charging me £15 a rim, the pickup only had three, the fourth and the spare are standard wheels. So I needed at least another one, two would be ideal, so I have the same size as a spare. Ive won these two tonight for a total of £140. If you feel that was a bit steep, the single wide wheel a few hours before this one went for £102. The seller states that they are Morris Minor GPO factory wide wheels. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that when they arrive next friday, they are what I'm looking for.[frame]Image[/frame]

well the gpo never fitted wide rims to there vans

wide rime originally were fitted to the 8cwt vans and pick ups

I was standing at the checkout at Halfords with my haynes manual, Having purchased the correct oil for the rear axle, and this Chap who I later learned was called Mick, offered me a Morris Minor parts Catalogue, mentioned his address in Worthing and said he didn't have a Morris any more and the book was mine if I wanted it, didn't want a penny for it, just wanted it to be of some use to someone. What a decent Bloke. seems that all morris minor owners are a decent part of human nature.

I have refilled the rear axle and differential gear with oil (ep90), I unscrewed the filler cap at the back of the differential housing and poured it till it was level with the hole, is this enough, or do you pour it in the plastic pipe at the top?[frame]Image[/frame]

correct
the plastic pipe at the top is the breather, make sure its clear and free from, muck

It looks like your axle breather has lost its top cover... I might be wrong though. The plastic tube should have a plastic cap on it. Look it up in your new parts book :D :D :D :D :D

Recommend you get a new one as otherwise you could get road dirt in there.

They are going to need to visit the blasters along with the other three that are there at the moment. There is a fair amount of surface rust, but no structural damage.[frame]Image[/frame]
