Hi all
I have a 1959 minor 950 cc engine and would like to fit a 1.3 marina engine
I have the marina engine & gearbox and would like to know if this will fit
straight in.
If not what would be the best match gearbox and what other parts will i need
as when i start the engine swap i dont want to be stuck for anything.

See another similar thread running. The Marina box is NOT a drop-in fit - needs different mount and of course a special prop shaft. However -it 'can' be done. Your 948 gearbox won't last long if you fit a 1275 engine to it. Better look out for a 1098 (rib case) gearbox.

and bear in mind that if you want to fit a minor box or midget box (basically the same boxes) then you will need a midget engine backplate, or a modified minor one. you will need to change the backplate to one of those if you went down the route of fitting a ford 5 speed conversion too. if you fit a minor/midget box you can use a minor prop. if you fit a ford box, you can get a special prop from most minor specialists.

you would need to do something about the flywheel too. for any of the boxes (other than the marina one) you will need a midget flywheel of modified minor one.
