I've got an Enfield Bullet in the garage that I must MOT again this year and a bitsa Bantam in parts in the shed which probably wont get put together till I retire .

I've got an Enfield Bullet also in the garage that I have to put back together, just have to rewire it and service it really. Plus a 1983 Vespa that I use as a daily hack. It's falling apart around me so I need to strip that and rebuild it too. I'm getting another Vespa (well an LML) as a new hack so I can take the old one off the road and still have something to pootle about on.

Agree on the Bonneville, I saw one of the new ones at the motorbike show last weekend. Was also surprised at how 'old brit Bonneville' the Kawasaki W800 looked there.

I'm a bike fan, although I have to say I have more interest in Japanese bikes than British. I suspect that's partly to do with the fact old British bikes go for such absurd money, and the controls being the 'wrong' way round!

I've got a '58 Puch MS50L hanging from the roof of my shed stripped and primed ready for the warmer weather. Been there over a year now and still crown myself on occassion. You'd think i'd remember!
Ok Ok I know its strictly a moped but couldn't resist the charm of it. There is an excellent part supply for it over in the Netherlands where they are still popular. See I'm not the only crazy one

I personally like the bikes rather than the scooters.
I have a '58 panther and it is really hard to find the parts I need as I have a really rare model. I just found out it had the wrong engine and I have to shell out £750 for a new one. Had it three years and its gradually going back together, should be ready for my 18th.

Indian Royal Enfields are a nice bike with a bit of regular maintenance and care. I had a 350 and still regret selling it..

I love old British motorbikes, sadly don't own any and would never dream of riding one! Fond memories of my brother charging about our large garden with me on the back of one his lovely bikes though (I was about 10yrs old and can't remember what it was specifically but it was either his BSA or his Velocette). I even made one of my children's cross stitch birth samplers by tweaking a Velocette cross stitch kit to show his birth details instead of the usual sweet baby things! Ooh lovely Enfield you have dp.

I have owned a 1948 Indian Chief for over 20 years, it has 59,000 miles on it, all by me. I have ridden this motorcycle to all 48 of the contiguous United States, Mexico and Canada. I also have toured 11 countries in Europe on A 1959 Norton Dominator twin. I actually like old motorcycles more than my cars.

The indian a lovely motorcycle i had an indian chief 1939 1200cc years ago swopped it for an ex police norton atlas then had harley sportsters for years and have a harley 90th aniversary in my garage i am going to sell

Had a variety of bikes both brit and jap and have dug out a couple of pics, firstly Triumph Bonny 650 in about 1982[frame][/frame]
Second my old Yamaha XS650 chopper, what a beast that was to ride from 1986[frame][/frame] and lastly another pic of the chop parked next to my mates kawasaki 1100 ( I think or might have been a Honda 1000 it was a long time ago)[frame][/frame]

off to see an enfield 350 bullet in a couple of weeks and got my sights set on a triumph twin bathtub 500cc see what deal i can get can,t wait still love my moggey convertible though

Mine (the earlier picture) is Indian too but the previous owner changed the plastic to metal so it looks more like an old Brit single. Well it is, just made in India. As with Minors, parts readily available.

The one above would prob soon polish up quite nicely. The 'rusty' primary chaincase is actually aluminium and could polish up to a mirror finish for a start.

Indian Enfields are fine if maintained well. The parts are cheap and the bikes are so simple to work on..

True, that picture was taken when I first got it home, now it is back to looking like aluminium although not quite a mirror finish.
