Gear box filler and drain spanner size
Hiya,I owned a 1963 1098cc Morris Minor and would like to do the gear oil change myself but do not know the spaner size.Please help.

The gearbox filler plug is the wheel nut size - in theory the wheel key can be used. I honestly don't know the drain plug size underneath - but it should be obvious when you go under. The gearbox uses normal engine oil!

for the drain plug i've found my 19mm spanner fits pretty well (awaits barrage of insults...)

For the filler plug (and the wheel nuts) I use an 18mm socket and it's a nice snug fit.

I too admit to using an 18mm socket on my rattle gun........
