Hi all,
I have a 1963 1098 4 door that is fitted with 13" wheels and a 1301 speedo
I am planning on changing from the 4.22 to a 3.9 diff. how can I get the speedo to read right again? is there an inline gearbox that I can use?

Re: speedo radios
I am running a 3.9 diff and 175/80X13 tyres and my 1408 speedo is spot on. Before you change speedos check yours with a Sat. Nav. The only thing that affects the speedo gearing is the tyre size and axle ratio.
There is a comprehensive list of speedos on the Series MM website, Car Ident. http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk

1248 from a Mini is absolutely spot on with 3.7 ratio and 155X14 tyres, But it doesn't play any tunes.....

Re: speedo radios
the other option, done by another member.. is to strip the paint of the current speedo.. go for a drive with a satnav and mark the speedo at 10 / 20 ... etc etc

Re: speedo radios
the downside to that is that the mileage will still be reading wrong even though the speed is right!charlie_morris_minor wrote:the other option, done by another member.. is to strip the paint of the current speedo.. go for a drive with a satnav and mark the speedo at 10 / 20 ... etc etc
