Choke Cable

My 55 needed a new choke cable as the old one was cut a few inches too short.
I got a new one and fitted it at the weekend but The knob doesn't look correct the fittment was too small so needed a big washer to stop it falling through the dash and after all that it has no clicks and almost no friction so when you pull the choke on it just slides back off

Has anyone managed to get an original type choke cable in the last year? If so, where from?

same issue with turbominor, had a good go at swapping the knobs over and gave up..

Unless you can cut the cable at the end of the nob/ratchet bit then solder or crip the new cable on to the old end?

I tried too (almost 3 years ago) and all I could get was this type:

i like the white spedo next to the original..

is there a little hand that point to the current speed

Have bought 2 in the last year, first from Morris minor centre - Useless same description as Ray's & then it broke so I bought a new one from Bull Motif as there stuff is good quality, bound to work properly.... rubbish exactly the same!

So there's 2 places not to try....

Thanks for lettimg me know it's not a one off - I was considering asking for a replacement, but now I'll ask for my money back instead.
(Then I need to get time to rebuild the original choke lever onto a new cable

)
