oil Bubbling

Post by Old Nick »

Dear All,
When checking oil and water today,i noticed oil bubbling away around each of the spark plug base's,where they screw into the head ! I took out each plug in turn and they seem normal i.e not oiled up! she does not use much oil and no water loss and no oil in water that i can see and she runs fine ! There is no oil leaking from rocker cover either and no steam from exhaust,Do i just ignore ? or change head gasket just incase ? It's not excessive !

Clean up and ignore.... It's certainly nothing to do with the head gasket.

More likely water and soot than oil as these are by-products of combustion.
It may be that the plugs have been overtightened which crushes all the "give" out of the sealing washers.
