Looking for air filter housing info

Post by katy »

(1961 MM 1000), need to know the length of the air intake tube that goes on the rear of the air filter housing. The one that reportedly is fond of falling off and disappearing. I plan on fabricating and installing one. I can’t measure clearances right now because the engine is not in the car and the manifolds and carburetor are not on the engine.
TIA, Ken

It's approximately 5 1/2" long, 1 1/4" inside diameter, and isn't perpendicular to the mounting face (see photo). The end is flared out a little.[frame]Image[/frame]
It looks like mine is just starting to develop a crack - time to break out the welder! :)

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
