lower link bushes?

Post by poppet »

Hi
just taken the fulcrum pin out of the lower link with a view to replacing bushes but it appears to be metal to metal. The manual indicates bushes. Can anybody shed any light please?

Thanks
Steve

in the bottom trunnion?

There are no rubber bushes but I believe there are phosphor bronze type ones - which should last longer than the threaded part

Yes, if you're referring to the lower trunnion they are bronze bushes which will be incorporated in the trunnion

Mentioned elsewhere nearby........ in theory can be replaced - in practice hard to find and would in any case need to be line-reamed after fitting. So you would need the reamer.......... You can just replace the pin - which often wears more than the bushes anyway. Otherwise - fit a new trunnion.
