Carpet colour with a maroon interior trim

I have bought a full interior trim kit from Newton Commercial for a Birch Grey (light grey) convertible I'm restoring. I have gone for a maroon interior with grey piping on the seat covers. (as per original) Turns out Newton Commercial (and ESM /Bull Motif I think) don't make a maroon carpet set, and they have sent a red carpet set. i think the red carpet will clash with the maroon seats/door cards etc.
What does everyone think?
Anyone got this combination that would be prepared to post a photo?
My current plan is to exchange for grey carpets as I have fitted mats - black rubber with a maroon trim that will cover much of the main floor anyway.

Your thoughts/experience please

was going to suggest red or grey myself any other colour in my opinion wouldn,t look right

Yes - the "maroon" from Newton is in fact a dark burgundy. I had this problem with my Traveller. She has cherokee red interior (bright red) so the carpets clashed. In the end I went for a colour near enough to the Rose Taupe paint. I'd try grey it it was mine. Even with mats the transmission area will show.
