Yes the "severed" roof is quite stiff

. What I didnt realise until after I had started was that the rear side windows are a different shape on the saloon compared to the convertible

. I intend to make my soft top detachable around the rear frame with "popers" or "DZUS" style fasteners so that all I need to do is undo the two bolts on the convertible frame and remove the frame complete with ragtop for the winter

. Not entirely sure how I will attach the front yet. I am thinking along the lines of drilling two locating holes for the two "spikes" on the windscreen top and using internal catches by the door pillars. however shaping the rear section for the windows has delayed me somewhat and sizing up resulted in scratching the rear

. The rear of the roof also needs extending to cover the wood rail - it seemed like such a simple idea when I first started it
