Master cylinder brake fluid monitor

After a recent M/C leak and considering the location of the M/C, Hans Dieter came up with this level monitor. Currently being tested, appears to work perfectly and no adverse reactions to brake fluid. Still to be fitted with some extra grommets to prevent the wires touching the cap. Perhaps we might do it as a kit.
Any thoughts?

Unfortunately the top of the cap is at carpet level so anything coming out of the cap might catch your feet.

to monitor the level, it's worth to convert to a remote reservoir - this also adds more capacity for lost fluid!

Do you connect the wires to a warning light, perhaps the blocked filter light on the speedo which never does anything?

The vent hole in the original cap is then sealed off. I used epoxy-see below

Like others, I think that the floor mounted switch will be too high above the floor to be of use, but I would be interested for the remote reservoir - no matter how often one checks the fluid level, it's impossible to monitor for faults developing whilst driving, and the switch would be an answer.

A development that I'd really like to see is a dual circuit servo assisted system where the cylinder still fits in the standard place....

The wire can be taken out through one of the flats on the cap so it will not be higher than the top of the cap. Look at the photo with the yellow cap above.

I'll send you some info on that dual circuit M/C by PM-it is available. I don't have a price on it but have asked for it.

Declan, I shall look forward to the PM, thanks. Unless it's something to do with the camera angle, it still looks as though the yellow cap is considerably taller than the hex head on the standard metal top; but I will keep an open mind.

We intend to keep the cap as low as possible-will try and get a better photo showing this.

Here we go:
Here's a photo with the moulded rubber cap made up for the application. At present the top of the cap is at 12.5mm (1/2")above the floor-can be reduced to 10mm. Second photo shows the carpet folded back with no great bulge.
