Gearbox oil

Post by AlMcL »

Hi
Can anyone advise if the amount of oil required in box is 2.25 pints, and if this is so is it critical or can you slightly overfill without causing damage.
Cheers Allan

You fill with engine oil until it flows over the filler hole........really not possible to overfill.

Correct oil for 803/948/1098/1275 A series gearboxes........... I believe only the side valve gearbox uses EP90 ?

I wish that was true for the MM gearbox. Someone overfilled mine and it soaked the clutch.

At least the MM box has a dipstick so it should not be overfilled
