speedo bulb

the bulb on the indicactor stalk did not work, this morning i switched on my lights no speedo light but indicator stalk light started to work what has happend

It's a miracle ! Meantime check if the little switch under the dash is in the On position to have the dash lights on.

Try tightening the bulb in the indicator arm.
Which bulb in the speedo did not work?

hi, thanks for your replys, its the dash bulb that does not light up, tried switch under dash no difference bulb in stalk is tight ,got in this morning stalk bulb would work then it would not seemed as though it was a lot dimmer as well, great club for advice, cheers jeff-d

Can't see the problems being connected.Flash bulb could be bad connection/failing filament in the bulb/failing flasher unit.

My indicator stalk light works then it dont then it does then it dont (oh its flashing!)
No seriously, my indicator stalk bulb sometimes comes unscrewed and doesnt work at all so I take the cap off and tighten it although it never seems 'loose' and its ok for a while. Examination of the bulb shows that the centre contact on the bulb is a lots less than it should, be must have been arcing - have a look at your bulb contacts.

sorted out speedo bulb there was a inline fuse it had blown

i found a scrapped minor which had a lucas relay unit still on it, fitted the unit on the car light working great
