Hi.
Does anyone know if traveller rear dampers are the same as those fitted to the saloon? And if not, are they interchangeable?
Thanks.
Neil.

Yes the standard dampers are all the same, its just the springs that are heavier on the traveller.
Too many Minors so little time.....

They are the same - although I think I have read that the dampers were changed (for all models) at some point?

Re: Rear damper query
Must've been early 1950s when it went from the knobbly damper body to the smoother one. Midgets also had thin and thick flange versions to stop the bodies cracking off(?)
Improved front dampers allegedly had a dash of green (or was it yellow?) paint on the black arms to denote anti-fade versions. One version had RXP cast into it but I'm unsure if this is the newer ones or not.

Yes, I have both saloon and Traveller- and yes the dampers are the same, the difference is the saloon/ convertible has a 5 leaf spring, whereas the Traveller has 7 leaves in its leaf springs.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO
