I removed the fuel tank from my Traveller yesterday in preparation for body welding. I found some items rattling around inside. I have no idea what they are, or what their intended purpose is. The picture shows a steel gauze tube with large hole in it, and 6 metal flatened balls (weights?). I dont know if these were originally inside the gauze or if they have nothing to do with each other. Does anyone have any idea as to what these are?
Fraid so - it's the 'miracle' catalyst system to convert to unleaded fuel - known to be fitted to some cars by our old friends Wares........ Needless to say - it does nothing useful.
Some of these not-so-miraculous solutions used tin pellets in a gauze bag.
Tin or lead pellets would be a waste of time and money, but that didn't stop people selling them.
