Fuel Pump

Post by RussLCV »

I have an Ital 1275 engine can I install a mechanical pump and with the late Maestro/Montego 1275 pump fit/work? Likewise is it the same as the Mini and Metro one?

Thanks

Yes of course - just check there is a lobe on the cam for it! And you won't have any fuel evaporation issues in hot weather.. Of course - you will have to crank it over a few turns to start it after a few days idle.

Yes of course it will - provided it was for the A series engine - can't comment on a fuelpump from a larger engine. But do check the camshaft in the engine has a lobe to drive the pump. Later Minis had cams without the lobe and just a chance such a cam may have crept into some other A series engines.

Might not be applicable, but, does the Maestro pump need the phenolic spacer?

If it was used on the Maestro A series with spacer - then yes! safest bet is to us the spacer and see if there is enough fuel flow......
