Declan, is that a fuel filter youve fitted on your servo pipe ?Declan_Burns wrote:Charles,
I have the servo connected to the inlet manifold and the rocker cover to the air filter. It's different filter and I have no problem with it clogging and no oil leaks.

Re: HELP HELP REGISTERED ENGINEER NEEDED FAST
Daisy was transported down to the test centre. I was 2 hours earlier than the set appointment, but they went ahead with the testing within a few minutes. A quick climb udner the car with a cloth around the sump, gearbox and rear axle just to make sure there were no drip marks ( there were not any ) and away I went for the retest.
They spent a long time examining the underside, especially all the brake lines, connectors and cables. They even spotted a drip mark on the rear near side tyre ( which I had cleaned up a week before and was already perfectly dry ) which caused quite a lot of discussion between the inspectors followed by a very detailed examination of the nearside hub ( clearly searching for a possible leak ). The didnt find one because yesterday I had both rear hubs off and tha backplates off to reseal the joints between the backplates and the axle casing with silicone that were very slightly dripping. I put that down to the fact the rear axle was acid dipped with the backplates in place ( then powder coated as a whole ), so the acid must have eaten away the old gaskets and caused a tiny leak.
The inspector then said he was not happy with the cable ties that I had used tosecure the rear brake pipes to the axle, but I argued he never had issue with them last time, so why now ? He then said its OK, but I must change them to steel type in my own interests of safety in the next few weeks and said he would no fail the car on that point.
Then I had to take the rear lower section of seat out so he could examine the E4 rear seat belt markings which then photographed. In fact he photographed almost everything, including the underside, interior, engine bay, brakes etc. He said he wanted to keep an accurate record of the car in the Government files.
He tested the brakes which were all fine, but did not recheck the bearings or suspension ( I assume becasue they checked those things last time ).
Finally, he PASSED Daisy and handed over a certificate off roadworthyness.
Thinking I would be on the road by next Tuesday, I called up the Tax department and asked for their valuation so I could go and register Daisy to which the man said, "call me in a week's time".....I said "youve got to be joking......I gave you all the required documents a month ago, why do I have to wait another week for you tod etermine the car's value ?". Without screaming or getting obviously angry, I politely asked him to see if it could be sorted by next Tuesday to which he said I could give him a call, but there is no guarantee. The thing is....im flying over to the UK next Wednesday evening with Matthew and the Mrs and wanted to get Daisy registered before we come back for our Christmas holiday....so there is no chance of that happening !! I reckon with this next hurdle to jump, it wont be until the 7th January before Daisy hits the roads.....and thats probably foolishly assuming the Tax people come up with a fair valuation.....failing which there may be an appeal which could take months !!
It just seems, that as soon as Ive jumped over one hurdle, I have another and then another and then another to negotiate.....Importing a classic car into Hong Kong is an absolute nightmare. No wonder there are so few classic cars in Hong Kong.
