Dish washer.......

Post by bmcecosse »

Anyone know how to fix these ? It's overfilling and running out........ Obviously there must be a level control of some sort - anyone know if it's a pressure switch - or a simple level switch with a float ??

I did this recently.

lay machine on front or tip it at 45 degrees
remove cover on base if there is one.
Look for a large rubber pipe the pump is in there.
Remove the obstruction and rebuild.
enjoy!

mine is a Zanusi.

My water level is controlled by a pressure switch, similar problem with mine, over filling. Checked switch by blowing gently in pipe, you will hear the switch click.

My problem turned out to be foreign body stuck under water inlet valve, preventing it from closing when de energized.
Can we still say foreign???

She's got him chained to the kitchen sink, or it's so flipping cold his fingers or PC won't work.

I've seen a dish washer in the master cylinder and on the end of the torsion bar. I think the other washers are flat, spring, and serrated. :roll:

Ahhhhhh ------ thank you all dear friends - just picking this thread up again. And yes - I am the main dishwasher too (no Marigolds!) - but the machine is very good at cleaning my Hornby Dublo plastic (and alloy) station buildings.........And no - I have a washing machine in the garage specially reserved for my train overalls - so that's not the problem. Some very useful posts back there (thanks lads!) - I'll try them all if/when the weather improves slightly. The machine is in a very tight corner and will need to be dragged/lifted outdoors to get at just about anything. Actually SWMBO is quite keen on just getting a new one............although this one is not that old - and is only really used about once a week - so it annoys me that it is probably something very simple. I will check the coil......... :roll:
Does anyone know if Manuals are available on line? It's a Hoover D 7610. I see Homebase ( :o ) list numerous spares - including a 'pressure switch'.......

Try here;
http://service.hoover.co.uk/manuals/Man ... ?Section=3

There is a manual for a d7660 which looks like a similar model, and should help.

Try this then;
http://www.howstuffworks.com/dishwasher.htm

You can work out where the bits are on your model.

Thanks again Marky....... It's just over-filling, and it can't be the valve sticking open because it only does it when on the wash cycle - it pumps out fine with no additional water coming in. I just need time to get at the thing - and right now there are other priorities!
