car cover
as i live in the good life zone (surbiton) and am without a garage, i want to get her ladyship a cover - not for her really, the cold doesn't seem to bother her at all - i just hate defrosting the windows! but anyway - my dad sent me one down and it said "not suitable for vintage cars" - and whilst that's good enough for me not to use it - i wonder if anyone could actually explain why?

Re: car cover
It would seem that certain plastics used in car covers are not suitable when covering celly paint. If they come into contact the paint "blooms" (clouds) and this is v. difficult to remove. I did have a cheaper car cover and got a reaction. I managed to remove the small area affected with T.Cut - but wouldn't risk it with a newly painted car. My Traveller has been sprayed in celly and my car cover now is from Coverzone (Stormforce- as I don't have enough garage space and she sits outside all year) However, if the respray is under 6 months old paint manufacturers do say don't cover with anything - doesn't help in this weather i know! If you really have to cover new paint I would suggest you buy a white kingsize flat sheet. Cover the car with this and then use the plastic cover. The sheet will act as a buffer.
