brake light flashers

hi all i want to have indicator/flasher built in with the tear drop brake lights and i have been told to use a relay how do i go about doing this

You can do it with a DB10 relay available from Minor specialists (at a price!), or alternatively using a pair of relays from Pop Browns.
However, post 1965 cars must have amber indicators, so I wouldn't do it unless you're related to the head of the local traffic police.

hi i am going to do it to a project i get in february/march and will be pre 65 and have you got any links at all for relays

Josh,

The Lucas DB10 brake light interrupter for the indicators is still available, but silly expensive. An alternative is to use a combination of standard relays (I believe they will go inside an old DB10 box?).

The wiring diagram below uses the terminal connection numbers from the original DB10 unit, so that the connections to the wiring loom remain the same as they were:
