Self Parking Wipers on a Series II

Post by forbesg »

Does anyone know if a later (in a 1098) wiper motor, is mechanically compatible with the earlier Series II drive shaft?

Or alternatively has anyone modified the existing Series II wiper system to self park?

Regards

You could try Birmingham Minor centre - they sell various upgrades for the wiper system.
The later wiper motor is quite different so I don't know if it is easy to use on a Series II

Is the older type fitted inside the car as opposed to the later on the inner wing? If so some form of mounting would be needed plus hole through bulkhead to accept outer tube. I would suspect all the tube might need replacing as well.
I know the cable rack is different, what about the wheelboxes?

'Riley' wasn't my choice at all (as it was Gayle's car at the time) but it stuck.

I named Evelyn earlier today :-D I wanted a nice period name... and it may be a multipurpose name in the future.

Thanks Ray.
I'll try there, otherwise I might have to resort to my back up plan of fitting a micro switch somewhere on the drive shaft.
