Morris 1000 Automatics ?????

Could anyone give me an idea if these were ever produced as a standard and if so are they looked as being rare or sought after vehicles etc any information would be fantastic. thanks

All minors came from the factory with a manual gearbox.

Thanks Dan, was there ever a company offering an option or do all the autos we now see come from donor cars, marinas etc ?

As far as I know all auto conversions are homebrew. I dare-say one or two have been done professionally, but I'm not aware of any companies that have advertised it as a service.

They do exist though, using Marina running gear normally.

thanks, would you think that an auto box specified, would generally mean a larger engine has been fitted also ?

yes it usual to take the 1300 engine that was in the marina as well.
