Perhaps she's working on an amazing logo and is going to surprise us all...

I definitely like Amy's logo thought, think the 2-doors are better and top left is the best, you don't really see many Minors in the other colours.

I've been off in the wilderness of my bedroom! I had a few things sketched up, but all did involve a minor in a circle pretty much. I wanted to keep the logo similar to the club logo - I tried three in a line, but it looked too crowded.

My final (which I need to scan, actually) was a minor from the front in a bright orange - but very similar to Amy's ideas!

EDIT: keep it ambiguous with the doors? Personally 4-door merchandise is GOLD DUST, and I love seeing something that shows 4 doors, but at the same time I understand 2 doors are more popular.

EDIT: picture included now, I replaced the minor I had with one i drew a few months back.. it looked more 'young'.[frame]Image[/frame]

I did a search on line looking for a Banksyfying filter but couldn't find one which is a shame, as it would be a good look for a logo.

great sketch, i'm just not sure about stereotyping us as depressed-looking hoodies!
i thought we were supposed to be breaking stereotypes, not reinforcing them!

I think we need a stereotypical emo...considering most of us aren't upstanding paragons of nerddom, or Mormon missionaries, or young communists, or lolly-licking naturally-curly-haired chilluns in sailor suits. So what else is left?

Besides...it's cold tonight, and I was wearing my hoodie. :D Suppose I slap a toothy grin on him?

I like this one that Chris Ryder put on the Facebook page, he said he isn't a member of the messageboard and asked if someone could upload it, so here it is. I definatley think a simple logo is better. If you think of logos you see around most of them are very simple, yet you still know exactly what they are, e.g. castrol oil, the penguin books penguin, mcdonalds M etc... Obviously not too simple as we would need people who haven't heard of the Morris Minor Owners Club or the Young Owners Register to be able to tell what it is. That's why I like Amy or Chris' logos as they are simple and to the point.[frame]Image[/frame]

With an RAF roundel in the background? :D :D

I'd considered that while doodling, and really I agree that it should be simple. So the thought that went through my head was, "illustration?" or something to that effect...maybe not logo per se, but still art that represents us. Not entirely sure what purpose that would serve, unless a bunch of us draw such illustrations.

But the million-dollar question is: how do we represent youth in a simple logo? It has to be sufficiently different from the Club's logo, naturally; we accept the premise it should be kept simple, in color and in content; and it should get across whatever our message is.

I'm going to do more illustrations because I enjoy them...and I probably will come up with a logoish design...but go on and pick from the crop you've got. They're not bad.

The answer is you can't, you might as well ask how can we represent humanity with a single figure?
The simple one that Chris Ryder did is a good basis, youth needs to come across on the font used and in the colour scheme.

I could see the roundel, but also the Japanese rising sun behind the car which makes it both patriotic and ironic at the same time.
Bit of a mixed message.
