trying to find...
The name of the square rubber bung that fits into a hole in the floor on the passenger side footwell (on the sloping bit).I need to order a replacement from a well know parts supplier in the south east (
) and have searched in vain under grommet, bung, plug etc etc.

Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Re: trying to find...
Are you sure it is rubber?
I've got a feeling that it's tar soaked cardboard or something similar stuck over the hole where a pedal would go through on a LHD car.
As there is nothing under there to be serviced a rubber bung would be an extravagance.

Hi
Are you refering to the dip switch hole for left hand drive which has a steel blanking plate and rubber washer?
The hole is shown here

This is where BMC part number ADA 2835 - plate dipper switch hole blanking and seal ADA 2836 goes - its held in place with two screws above and below the hole??
There is a card square trim stuch on with bitumen just above which you can also see in the pic and thats the type MarkyB is refering to.

I need the same part, Try cutting 2 pieces of rubber, maybe an 1/8'' thick and slightly bigger all round than the square hole, glued ( super glue) back to back but not around the last bit of the perimeter. This will give you a home made grommet for the hole?

Re: trying to find...
OK, seems the regular seal is a bit of bitumen stuff then. I'm sure I had a rubber bung on a previous car though. Might have been a parts bin special I suppose.
Cheers.
