wrong dizzy

the dizzy on my 1969 1098 moggy is a lucas DM2 & it runs just fine. my book tells me it should be fitted with a lucus 25D . i am about to fit an old luminition ign kit .before i buy the fitting kit is there any reason not use this dizzy. thanks jonno

A DM2 is the very early dizzy - the advance curve will be completely wrong - and the dizzy is very likely badly worn - just due to it's great age. Best buy is a BRAND NEW 45 D from simonbbc or accu-spark (search ebay for these sellers) . These dizzies are screaming bargains - well worth buying I think and should eliminate all dizzy problems for a few years to come!

The DM2 dizzy was used on the Series 11. I have one which seems to be in good cond. except that the terminal which slots into the side is missing and is a different fitting to the 25D
