Does anything go under carpet? And what holds it in?
When I purchased my Morris minor It had at some point had it's interior carpet removed and not replaced, my question is from new would it have had anything under the carpet like underlay or soundproofing or is it just the carpet straight on the metal floor? Also what holds it in? I noticed some screw holes which may be where screws once held the carpet in? Cheers

In my understanding, the carpet should be held with some kind of adhesive. Some use glue, which depending on formula can be hell to take back up, and some use tape, which sometimes gives.
My car came with traditional foam carpet padding under the carpet itself, but I think none of it's original, so I really can't tell you.

Those clips are great but can be a bit of a PIA to fit! If you go down the glue route if you "spot glue" the sills cover and the wheel arch cover, and the bit that goes under the rear seat. The rest just "lay" This makes the carpet much easier to remove should you need to (i.e. if you find a hole in the floor which needs working on) Otherwise prizing them up will distort/destroy them and you'll have to buy more!

I bet that there would be a lot more solid Minors around if these had never been used.
