Rebecca was green....?
Um, I know I should get one of those historical vehical certificate things, which would tell me this, but I can't afford 15 quid on history, so I thought I'd ask here....
Minor's don't all have a layer of green paint under their top-coat (like a primer, or something, in green....).
Only, the scratches on my dashboard reveal.... green, and the worn paint areas on the doors are.... green. I'm beginning to suspect that my dear Rebecca may have been through a green phase. But that seems rather odd, 'cos the door cards are all blue, the carpet was blue, the vinyl was all blue.....
So, was just wondering.

normally you'll find a couple of different colours under the topcoat.
Can't remember if green is 'normal' as it's years since I messed with paintwork.. however it doesn't sound too odd.

You can get photo copies of all the previous registration details (including colour) from the DVLA. It will cost you £5 but you get details of all the previous owners and dates of ownership. The address is Fee-Paying Enquiries, DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AJ. You need to quote the registration number and reason for request, e.g. "historic interest", and send a cheque payable to DVLA.

Well, if you were going to the Website Rally, and the archives were open on that day, you could ask to see the build ledger... proved a fair bit about Phyllis, but thery wouldn't let me photocopy it, strangely.
Oh how I love post-its...

But your ID code says blue right? I've seen the green. I think she may have been green for a while rather than orignally green.
Besides, I like Rebecca Trafalgar Blue. And her interior is so much more welcoming than Hebe's when you've had a tough day. Bright red really wakes you up. Blue is so much more soothing

If you look behind a door card or behind a glove box you should be able to see the original paint colour as ite unlikley to have been repainted in those areas.I'm beginning to suspect that my dear Rebecca may have been through a green phase. But that seems rather odd, 'cos the door cards are all blue, the carpet was blue, the vinyl was all blue.....
So, was just wondering.

No, it's blue everywhere - just everywhere I've seen a scratch under the blue it's green. But it's blue under the window rubbers, inside the dashboard, everywhere...
My mog doesn't have a paint colour code on it, at least, I don't think it does (1969).... but whatever it said, if she did have one, she's staying traffy blue now. I like the colour
And unfortunately I can't make it to the website rally....

Yes, like Ray, my Smoke Grey salloon has both a muted green and soft red under my top coat.rayofleamington wrote:Hmmm - I'm sure there were 2 colours under my first traffy blue Minor, so one of them may well have been green (the other was red)
