It's stuck !
I'm trying to remove the water pump pully. The yellow body is loose but the small round centre bit is stuck. I've tried plusgas but it won't budge. Never come across this problem before. Do i resort to the hammer or will that knock it home further?
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
Re: It's stuck !
Just knock it about gently - the yellow pulley is just a push fit over the nose of the pump. I'm assuming you have the four screws out......

Yes the yellow part is loose and able to revolve around the boss of the pump,ie: go out of line with the bolt holes. The problem is a unpainted centre 'hub' that appears to be part of the pully but is stuck on or in the end of the pump behind.

So that plain metal bit in the centre is part of the pump? In other words when the pulley comes off there will be a 1/2 inch hole in the centre?

It's off now but the problem was that centre boss.It was a bit on the large size to get the pully off cleanly. Done this job about a half dozen times before and never come across this.
