US owner needs upgarde info

Post by tds »

Oregon, USA owner of 1961 948cc restored convertible (actually a Brummie been over 25 years). Need to upgarde to deal with all those big Chevies! Any help much appreciated
1. Am restoring a ribbed midget g-box which has a RHS front cover for release arm. I am planning a hydraulic clutch conversion. Anybody done this? Problems...Options?
2. Have just put in a 3.9:1 diff and all is nice but a bit more gear work on hills. Should I go 13 inch wheels and hardened 1/2 shafts? Cannot buy 145R14 tyres in the US
3. Want to throw away poins and put a Luminition unit on my DM2 dist. Anybody know the correct Lumintion, or similar, number

Great club..brillaint Magazine...been a member 12 years..keep up good work!

Trevor the choice is yours at the end of the day but also consider the Aldon system as well, as a few owners have had problems with Luminition systems going wrong after 2 - 3 years.
