Small Metal/plastic Clips on Door Cards.

Post by custommartin »

Hi all,

I thought i would look at removing the door cards from the Pick-up, this week-end, ready for cleaning up and re-painting etc.

The drivers side was ok to remove, I just 'pinged' off the metal clips and hey presto.....

However...... at some point the passenger-side clips have been replaced with plastic ones.

I cannot see a way of removing these without cutting the heads off, then of course I can't refit the card!!!

They are like those you get in flat-pack furniture (). There is a large plastic head with a sort of 'christmas tree' stem. They are easy to fit but impossible to remove!

My question is;
Is it possible to get new metal clips for the LCV panels (not the same as the saloons btw) or does anyone know where to get more of these little clips?????

As usual thanks for the help.

I dont think those clips are meant to be re-used.
There's a plastic stem pushed through the head so that the tail opens out (like a rawlplug).

I'm sure that there's lots of places to get replacements (not the H word!)

Try Namrick (?)

the original metal clips for lcv panels are not available new anymore, you have to try second hand.
and the brown ones are even harder to get.

the plastic ones are rubbish

Looks like either 883c or 702 could be the item required.

Thanks for all the help, everybody! :D

Unfortunately, those clips on the web-site are the saloon type, the ones that are hidden behind the fabric.

The LCV ones are slightly different, they are a similar shape but have a round head that is visible from the outside .

As Dennis said, they are no longer available, so I will have to use, at least some of, the new 'rubbish' plastic type.

They do hold the panel on tightly though

Anyone know of any other suppliers???

Apparently East Sussex Minors sell them.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Martin
