I have just fitted new grease nipples to the steering (5/16 UNF) as the originals were past their best and I wasted more grease than the joints used.
Anyway, once the joints have been greased the grease gun is virtually impossible to remove! - I pulled a new right angled grease nipple apart trying to get the gun off!
I have always twisted the gun to the side to release it but this doesn't work, I release the pressure with the release valve but it still wont twist off, so I end up unscrewing the end of the gun (knurled part) partly to enable it to be removed! Doesn't leak though!
Any body experienced a similar problem?

Re: Grease Nipples and Nozzle
My problem is getting the gun to stay on without grease going everywhere except in the nipple.

Re: Grease Nipples and Nozzle
My grease gun has a button to let the pressure off to release the grip on the nipple. I thought they all did.
