Just drove the car...

Post by callyspoy »

I forget how much fun the Minor is! It is currently in process of being prepped for a respray. But i had to move it, so took it for a blast.
What a beast! I'm used to my 13/60 herald now and i just forget how powerful the little Fiat engine feels in one of these.
I'm gunna miss it when it's gone. :-(

I am certain to sell the Minor as i need the funds to work on the Herald.
Fortunately, my girlfriend has got very attached to Minors since driving my dads for a week and once she moves job (couple of years yet) she is going to get one, which makes me very happy!
Fiat in the Herald was a though as i had the whole spare set up, but i decided against it as there is a crossmember that would be in the way of the sump, which would mean moving the engine back and cutting into the bulkhead. I'm far too old for that these days!
My trusty 1300 triumph engine will go alnost as well i am hoping once it's been heavily tweaked. Looking at 100bhp if i do all that i want to do to it.
Not quite on par with Martins though...!!

Why not go with a Vitesse in the first place especially with the 2L 6 pot 8) or even as a local one to me has done and fitted a V8 :o

I have thought a lot about it Kevin(the vitesse, not v8!) bit i just thought that it would be nice to make a high revving screamer of an engine.
Although i love the Fiat engine, i always wished i had modded a 1275 more.
Anyway, in the future i may chuck a zetec in the triumph. 6 cylinder vitesse is a nice easy solution, but i just think the extra weight over the wheels is an unneccesary addition even if the sound is supposed to be amazing!

Sell the Minor to your girlfriend on a payment per month option. She gets a Minor, you get a monthly income to put into your Herald(!) & you'll be incentivised to get your new project done cos your girlfriend has a faster car than you :o :D :)

put some smallprint in the contract about non payment causing forfeiture
