Re Door on opening hit edge of wing.
Hope some one can help. This might seem a silly thing to ask.
I have just spray my drivers side wing and door and now when I open the door the edge of door meets the edge of the wing. It did not happen before and both and wing and door have not been moved. Is there a way to move the door away from the wing. It dos not have to be much, have to sort it out before I have to respray door again.
Thanks for help given.

Hi
Assuming your door hasnt dropped significantly on the hinges then is it just when you open the door fully that it touches?
If so then you can adjust the door check bar nut which is located behind the door trim panel.
If its rubbing as you open it then youve either got to loosen the wing and adjust slightly or a slight adjustment of the door may do it.

Thanks is it a big job to adjust the door and as I said in my first posting this is only since I resprayed both door and win.
Re: Re Door on opening hit edge of wing.
The door may be buckled where the check bar stops it opening - if it has been 'snatched' open by the wind at some time. the remedy is obvious. Or - just pack the check bar with steel washers and/or rubber cushion washers.

Re: Re Door on opening hit edge of wing.
did you put any filler in the door as this will cause a problem if the front edge was in, in relation to the door and when door filled level to wing it now catches on opening (can every one understand this)

There has been no work on the door or wing, apart from spraying them both.

Re: Re Door on opening hit edge of wing.
if the door was taken off, maybe a shim (if fitted) was lost from the hinge.
other than than, all i can think of is the wing was put on a tad to far back owing to larger holes than normal
