Minor saloon needed for photo shoot

Post by freelance »

Hi, I hope someone can help.

With the ever-efficient Sandy and Rosie away on holiday I'm struggling to locate a Minor for a photo shoot.

I'm looking for a 1098cc Minor saloon to take part in a Classic & Sports Car feature. This is for our fairly long-running 'Ultimate Showdown' series – a nine-page major feature in the mag – and will be comparing the Minor with a Beetle (yes, that old chestnut!).

The date we have set for the shoot is Tuesday September 14, meeting up at the Duxford war museum, just off the M11 in Herts. It's an all-day thing to get the photos and driving done, but we will pay the owner's travel expenses, keep them fed and watered, and provide them with a copy of the mag and a CD of the photos taken by our top snapper, Tony Baker.

The car doesn't need to be concours, just presentable enough for photos. The important bit is that it needs to be a standard, unmodified example.

We will of course give the Club a good plug in exchange for any help given. Please either contact me here, or preferably by one of the methods below.

Regards
Russ Smith

Well if it's any use I have a very tidy 4-door 1960 948 saloon in OE White, based in Middlesex so not too far from the shoot; and available on that date if you run out of options

Hi. Would mine do? Its bog standard, the only non-standard items are locking petrol cap and door mirrors! Regards, William.[frame]Image[/frame]

Before someone says it. I forgot to say that the wheels on my car are a non-standard colour
, they should be dark silver for that year. One for the anoraks![frame]Image[/frame]

Thanks everyone, and especially to Kevin Bye from Peterborough who brought his blue saloon along for the shoot.

Look out for it in the February issue of Classic & Sports Car (out just after Christmas).
