Re: 1968 Morris Minor
Be careful with thinners on rubber as it will degrade it also I'd get rid of those ally valve caps as they weld themselves to the valves and you'll never get them off......

What did you use to take your wheels to bare metal?
My wheels could do with sorting out but I can't be arsed to remove the tyres and am reluctant to use a grinder with them in situ lol

Re: 1968 Morris Minor
Keep up with regular dabs of vaseline - In the past I have wet flatted overspray off tyres (it's less aggressive than thinners)

Re: 1968 Morris Minor
After you've sanded down the wheel, run a line (using small strips of masking tape) around the tyre tucking it just under where the metal wheel joins the rubber of the tyre and then cover the tyre with newspaper using more masking tape to attach the paper to the masking tape circle this will avoid any spray getting on the tyres and get a nice crisp edge to the paint of your tyre. I use a rattle can primer then top coat. About 3 coats of primer and then 3/4 of topcoat. Leave to dry for about 3 hours before removing the masking tape.
