Wiper park position

I wonder if anyone can offer some advice? When you turn the wipers off in my minor instead of going to the bottom & stopping they go to the bottom then back up the screen a couple of inches to park, I dont find this particularly inconvenient in itself but they seem to bang against the bottom of the screen as they sweep too & I'm a bit worried something will get damaged over time.
Is there a way to adjust the sweep and the parking position?
I could turn the wiper arms round a spline or two so they dont tap the botom of the screen but then the park position would be in the middle of the screen!

The self parking mechanism is the circular plate with a wire attached on the top of the wiper motor. Slacken the bolts holding the cover down enough to rotate the plate. Wet the screen, rotate the plate slightly and switch the wipers on and off. Keep adjusting until you have the desired park position. Tighten the bolts.

Hello 67 2 door,

the park position is adjusted by rotating the top hat section cover on the wheelbox of the wiper motor. You need to slacken the screws first then rotate a bit until they park correctly.

The sweep is non adjustable, but if they only hit the scuttle panel when it very wet, the wiper boxes are probably worn so there's a bit of slop. It's worth pulling out the rack from the wiper motor (wiper arms off the spindles by the way), until it's clear of the spindles, turn each spindle 180 degrees and push the rack back into place. If it hasn't been done before you then have got an unworn section of wheel and the slop should be reduced?

First - move the arms so they don't quite hit the rubber at the screen bottom on a wet screen - then turn the lid little by little till they park 'just after' leaving the base of the screen. This gives them an easier start up the screen when you switch them on.

Thanks for your help guys, I've moved the wiper arms & adjusted the wiper motor so they're now sorted.
Had a productive afternoon, I also rewired my fuel pump & fitted a hidden switch. Replaced my heater pipes & heater valve, what a pain that was, is it just me or is one of the nuts on the heater valve practically impossible to do up!
