Many of the board regulars mention that they own or use other makes of car - including modern metal.
Being nosey, how about another poll to see who relies solely on their Minor to keep themselves mobile !
I should add that I've also got a roadworthy 1969 Citroen DS21 which scraped through it's MOT last month (some TLC will be needed soon ) and my other half's Corsa which can sometimes be borrowed in an emergency. The plan is to get the traveller back on the road so I can work on the saloon when necessary.

I am a sucker for 'Bargains' hence a Traveller, a convertible, a 1967 Mini Mk1, A 1987 Jaguar XJ6 and more recently a Peugeot 205 GTI bought to sell on and make a quick profit 6 months ago that I instead now use almost every day to go to work!
My wife says I am great at buying classic cars at a good price but totally pathetic at selling them. But they are all part of the family!
Untill very recently my moggie van was used daily for work (property maintenace) but now shes in semi-retirment (soon to be restored) and I use the Transit, my traveller does reside in my insulated (and soon to be heated) garage under a luxury car cover. I also have a rare historic special thats as good as finished the running restoration. And for everything else I use the Audi, that is a nice car! despite being modern.
cheers, Daniel

The pulling power of a Turbo Diesel! The voices may not be real, but they have good ideas.
I have an MGTF as an every day car but I may think about giving her up for another MM saloon as I love them so much. My 2nd car will soon be a MM 1960 convertible to be picked up Saturday (pending weather!). I have had a few lovely modern cars, including an Aston Martin DB7 Volante, but the Morris owns my heart and soul!
Due to doing property Maintenance i only use my pick up for work when i have'nt got a lot of tools to carry around, so there for i use my escort van. (Rather use my pick up)
im having to use my pushbike/trains to get around as my 2 minors are still not quite ready for the road. i considered a modern car but thought the money better spent restoring the minors.

Keep track of the restoration with the live webcam!
I've got a landrover disco, fits us all in nicely, me, Deb (wife), Sophie (daughter) and Frizby, Poppy and Smudge (pooches). If ever the moggie gives up, I'll put it in the back of the Disco.......
Must get the moggie fitted with seatbelts soon so I can take Sophie out in it. I use the moggie every day, and Deb gets the Disco, I like it that way!!
I couldn't vote - none applied to me . I have lots of minors, none road worthy, one ALMOST ready for the road. I have no others cars, I walk down the hall to work, and catch a ride or use dad's minor (or parents moderns) to go anywhere I need too.
My other car is a bike. Only living 3 miles from work it's the only practical solution - and I enjoy it too. Having ridden to work pretty much for the last 10 years I reakon I'd miss the experience.
Between me and the wife we have a supermini and a people mover.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
Turbominor will ( in the next few weeks hopefully) be my only car, is insured for 20,000 miles a year for work and pleasure, and the tax man will hopefully owe me money as i get a nice rebate.
Occasionaly borrow wife's diesel shed in moments of desperation or one of the company pool cars if turbominor has a momenty 'turn' and needs a doctor.......
Planning to add a nice V8 SIII Landrover or Carlton GSI3000 24v to share the load(unless wife finds out)
Strictly speaking the Minor was meant to be my secondary means of transport - primary being my MZ 2-Smoke, however since my bike has both suicidal and homicidal tendancies and is currently languishing in the back of the garage awaiting me finding out what's gone wrong with it *this time*, um, Rebecca's been doing solid every day transport for me.

It's great to see a few people here have a Minor as an everyday car . Not too many here in everyday use.
My everyday car is ex-NRMA Minor van - does around 1500km/week, weekend/club/wifes car is a '62 1000, show/club car is a '48 sidevalve. Another club car (now in storage) is a '70 1000.
Tow car is a '87 RR - too thirsty for everyday use (soon to be Tdi).
And a few (too many) "projects" in the shed .
Oh, and there's the wifes other car, Holden Gemini, if all else fails .

I can't really pick any of the options either. The Mog lives in the garage, but doesn't come out weekends, though it will when finished. Several months of tin worm eradication to go before then, if I ever get time to buy some panels (missed the national through work!). It's only been off the road since 1986!
I also have another classic awaiting finishing (paint, glass and interior) which is a VW Scirrocco (Tara). We have an Audi and a Skoda between the two of us for everyday use, as they are the only ones that work (Audrey and Katy).
Hello from Audrey, Beast, Tara, Robin, and of course Mog.
I use a 1997 Rover 416 estate for everyday use, but if it's a nice day and the Mog isn't playing up then I use the '69 1380cc 4 door (I used to use it everyday for about 2 years). I am also near(ish) to completing my 1978 MGB GT which has been off the road for about 2 years or so. My 1952 MM is in storage and has been off the road since 2000 ish. The 1970 Traveller has been off the road for about 10 years and needs a LOT of work. Other than that, I sometimes use my mum's Sierra or my dad's Honda Civic when the Rover AND the Mog are ill (not very often but it HAS happened!!).
If a Minor is properly serviced and maintained it should never let you down. Even a modern car fails sometimes more than occasionally. I've had only Minors (no modern stuff) for 6 years now and been let down once (am I lucky?). That was my own fault because after fitting new points to the saloon I didn't spot a bit of grease on them which eventually led to a loss of spark. RAC man fix - I had no tools!!
Alfie my 65 2 door is I confess only really used as a summer car but is used during the week as well as weekends and also lives outdoors all year round, I also have a Traveller that could not be used as back up at the moment as its trapped in the garage, my wife has a 7 seater space waggon that she needs for work (child minding) + a recently aquired 4 x 4 that will be the Winter & backup car.
Cheers
Kevin
Lovejoy 1968 Smoke Grey Traveller (gone to a new home after13 years)
I relied totally on Minors for my transport for ten years with ONE
breakdown (condensor) £1-99p ten minutes! Five years ago I
sold one and kept the convertible. I now have a Daewoo Matiz too
796 cc, 90mph, 50mpg and air conditioning! Talk about technical
advances! Still prefer the convertible though.
