Manifold problem
Just bought a 3 branch manifold from ESM, and have a set of twin su 1 1/4" But the intake manifold and carbs won't fit. The distanse between head and the carbs is to small. Or the 3 branch is building out to much? Anyone else that have this 3 branch and twin carbs on their car?? What kind of intake manifold do you use???

Re: Manifold problem
Are you certain that you haven't got a Mini inlet manifold by mistake? They have the cross pipe about an inch-ish closer to the head face than Midget ones.

Re: Manifold problem
Maybe. But i can't find any other intake manifold. They look the same ass the one i have.
Re: Manifold problem
The lcb is probably designed - as above - to be used with the Spridget carbs/manifold. The Mini ones are especially compact - to fit a Mini! Good news is - you will do much better with a single large SU anyway. MG Metro manifold and HIF 38 carb is what you need - flog the twins to a Mini owner!

Re: Manifold problem
Would that work better?? Hmmmmm

Re: Manifold problem
Of course it does! Each port gets a 1.5" hole to suck through - rather than a 1.25" hole........ There is no worthwhile cross flow in the ghastly BMC inlet manifold - in fact - the crosstube intersection disrupts the smooth flow from each carb to head port and is better blocked off. If you compare a Mini manifold with a Spridget manifold - the Spridget one has 'stubs' that space the manifold away - and the carbs are at a lower mounting angle.

You need spacers, the shiny ones behind the heat shield and longer studs. BMMC should be able to supply
