The joy of leaky gloveboxes.

After being away for the week, I return to find my gloveboxes doing very good impressions of puddles.
I'm not very pleased, as they had never leaked before, and all my photocopies of insurance details and my user manual were in there. Also on the shelf beneath I had my felt cowboy hat, which has been awfully dripped on. Not a happy bunny!

I had this problem on the passenger side. Turned out to be the screen washer nozzle was loose.

Took the cardboard out, tightened the nozzle and problem solved. Maybe you have the same problem?

How do you tighten the screenwash nozzle? Mine is a loose fit & lets water into the passenger glovebox in heavy rain.

With mine it was a case of taking the cardboard lining out of the passenger side golvebox (I actually could squeeze my hand in after only taking the screws out of the top of the lining), hold the nozzle in position on the outside with one hand (I could just about reach it) and do it up from under the dash with your other hand.

That's what it feels like. I haven't seen one off the car either

It could be a perished windscreen seal? sometimes when it needs replacing, it leaks water into the glove box.

Being a pragmatic old bodger I removed my glove boxes put carrier bags over them then replaced them, trimming off the excess.

This gave me "waterproof"cardboard and time to track down the source of the leak.

If the types of plastic that are available now, were available then, no doubt they would have been used, but there you go,you can't turn back the clock.

I'm sure the same applies to oils, whatever, engineers can only use what is available at the time, subject to management and accountants of course

Also check that there are rubber washers fitted under the windscreen wiper arms as water can get in under them.
