Distributor vacuum adavance modules.

Hello all,

vacuum advance modules seem to be a common query, and the availability or otherwise of the correct module seems in doubt.
It would seem from this company's blurb that they can supply a suitable replacement rather than a 'one size fits all' approach.

I've not had any dealings with them, but do intend to send my Triumph's distributor for overhaul and recalibration to them.

Some time ago there was a link to a chart of dizzy applications on the message board, so that you could check that you had the correct dizzy to start with.

I never heard a bad word spoken about Distributor Doctor...in fact the very opposite.Speak to Martin direct and he will sort you out.
The previous owner of my Triumph had fitted the wrong vacuum advance.A quick phone call and the correct one was received in the post, the following day !!
He also provided a complete spare set of distributor bits when our local group ( Triumph Register ) toured Norway.Three different car electrical breakdowns on the trip, fortunately not mine.
When the snow is stacked 10 feet high on the side of the road, up in the mountains and the last time you saw houses was half an hour ago, spares for a forty year old car are hard to come by, unless you have planned ahead !!

A very satisfied customer, old fashioned good service from someone ( Martin Jay )who knows what he is talking about .Rare these days.

Hello Bob,

thank you for that, I had heard from others that he was good and knows his stuff. I'd much rather have my mechanical distributor than these fancy electronic kits that everyone raves about. It just seems far more suited to the car. (1968 Triumph 2.5 P.I.)
